David Bruce Willis

WEAVERVILLE – David Bruce Willis, age 53, of Weaverville, died Tuesday, September 26, 2017. Mr. Willis was born March 15, 1964 in Buncombe County, where he had lived most of his life. He was the son of the late H.L. Griffin and Ellen Israel Fisher. Also preceding him in death is his adoptive father, Charles Willis and his Chihuahua, Baby Puppy. David formerly worked at Piccadilly Cafeteria and Sonopress. He enjoyed his home life with family and playing video games with friends, always making them all laugh. Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Wilma Higgins Willis; daughter, Autumn Willis and several half-brothers and sisters. His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, September 29, 2017, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverends Albert Roberts and Eric Sams officiating. Burial will be in Higgins Family Cemetery, Edmonds Rd., Weaverville. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the funeral home.
