Christopher "Chris" L. Hyder

Chris Hyder, 62, passed away at his home on April 9, 2024.  A native of Buncombe County Chris grew up in the Flat Creek Community, graduated from North Buncombe HS in 1979 and attended Salem United Methodist Church. Since 2004 he has lived in Fletcher, NC where he was employed by Hubble Inc. for 28 years.

Chris was an avid fan of College basketball. Of course his favorite was the Tarheels. He loved reading and playing games on line. He loved different types of food and trying new places to eat. He loved to travel and enjoyed visiting new places. He loved the mountains of Western North Carolina and also the coast of SC.   However, since marrying his wife Haydee his heart was in the Philippines.

He is survived by his wife Haydee Magaoay of the Philippines, brother Roger Hyder (Margaret) Evans, Ga., brother Randy Hyder, Fletcher, NC, sister Gail Joyner (Mike) Seneca, SC, nephew Keith Hyder (MaryAnne) Marshall, NC who was like a brother to Chris and many more nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by parents Maurice R. and Helen Edmonds Hyder.   Also, his sister Marcia Ann Hyder.

Chris was greatly loved by his family and friends and will be missed.  We rejoice in knowing he is at home with his Lord and Savior.

On Saturday, April 27^th at 3:00 pm a Memorial will be held at Salem United Methodist Church, 9 Salem Rd., Weaverville, NC 28787.
