WEAVERVILLE - Charlotte Denise Mobley Peters, a dedicated professional and beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, in Weaverville, North Carolina. Born on April 19, 1937, in Santa Barbara, California, Charlotte’s life was marked by a commitment to hard work, family, and an enduring curiosity about her heritage.

Charlotte began her career in the medical field in Catalina Island, California and later Los Angeles. She continued in Reno until she embraced a vibrant role in the gaming industry, becoming a high stakes dealer for blackjack and baccarat in the casinos and later Atlantic City. In 1986, she and her husband embarked on a new chapter, founding Bob & Denise's Classic Car Wash. This venture showcased her entrepreneurial spirit and community involvement.

A woman of diverse interests, Charlotte had a great passion for traveling across the country each year, seeking to broaden her horizons and deepen her knowledge of genealogy. This interest reflected her deep respect for history and family roots. Among her proudest accomplishments was her dedicated decade-long service as Registrar for the Edward Buncombe DAR Chapter, which highlighted her leadership and devotion to preserving history. She travelled the country promoting her business The Classic Scent, featured at various trade shows and conventions.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Robert F. Peters, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews who hold fond memories of her kindness and warmth. She was preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte Sylvia Bellman Mobley; her father, Allen Stillwell Mobley; and siblings Allen Mobley, Jr., Derdrid Mobley Rosa, and Lawrence Spear Mobley.

Charlotte’s life journey was one of dedication, love, and resilience. Her legacy of professional accomplishment offers inspiration and comfort to all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed, but her memory will continue to be treasured by her loved ones and the community she so dearly valued.
