WEAVERVILLE – Cecil M. Williams, age 94, of Lakeshore Drive died Saturday, August 12, 2017. Mr. Williams was born January 28, 1923. A native of Easley, SC he had lived in Buncombe County for 60 years. He held an undergraduate degree from USC, Columbia, SC and a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from John Hopkins University. Cecil was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and Weaverville United Methodist Church. He was son of the late South Carolina State Senator, Fred F. Williams and Carrie Mason Williams. Also preceding him in death are his wife, Dorothy Hyer Williams; brothers, Judge James C. Williams and wife Gloria and Fred F. Williams, Jr. Surviving are his daughter, Sara Williams Veasey and husband Thomas of Weaverville; brother, Ray Williams and wife Carol of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Amista Lemke and husband Mark of Weaverville and Nicole Siragusa and husband Bobby of Ft. Lauderdale; three great granddaughters, Aviana, Louisa, and Joelle; along with many nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Dockery and Rev. Dr. Roger Weisner officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. Pallbearers include Randy Boggs, Jonathan Eatmon, Conley Hyer,Jr., Eddie Hyer, Phil Hyer, and Shawn Hyer, The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Weaverville United Methodist Church, PO Box 37, Weaverville, NC 28787.
