WEAVERVILLE – Carolyn “Lucy” Harron, age 90, of Weaverville passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Mrs. Harron was born on August 29, 1935, in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She was a Teacher Assistant in the public school system and a former member of Flat Creek Baptist Church and GracePoint Church. She was a daughter of the late Awin and Sadie Watkins Buckner and wife of the late Harold Dwight Harron who died in 2024. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Roberts, and Marie Carey; and brothers, David Buckner, James Buckner, and Paul Buckner.

Surviving is her daughter, Joy Eilers (John); sons, Steve Harron (Patty), and Jeff Harron; grandchildren, Meredith Harron-Curtis (Matt), Jamin and Jillian Eilers Cotton (Cameron); and great grandchildren, Sadie Jean Davis, James Bear Davis, and Cate Cotton.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 21, 2026, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Ray Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, 901 Aiken Rd., Asheville.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 21, 2026, prior to the service at the funeral home.
