Cait Pomeroy

WOODFIN - Cait Pomeroy, age 73, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the Solace Center with her husband by her side. 

Mrs. Pomeroy was born October 13, 1949, in Houston, Texas, where she lived much of her life before moving to Western North Carolina. 

Cait was a person of varied interests and many skills that she used to bless those who knew her.  She owned and operated an organic herb farm called Mint Condition.  She was known for baking and sharing goodies with everyone.  She owned and ran a bookstore specializing in Texas history.  She wrote for the Houston Chronicle newspaper, and she wrote and published several cookbooks.  In retirement, she termed herself a “Full Time Mischief Maker.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Louise Nichols and Michael Malone, and her beloved grandmother, Jewel Madden Malone.  She is survived by her husband of 53 years, David Pomeroy; sister-in-law Mary Petty and husband Gary of N. Palm Beach, Florida; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. 

A Celebration of Life will be held this summer at the family’s home.  Details will be announced.
