Bud Dillingham

BARNARDSVILLE – Claude “Bud” Dillingham, age 69, of Barnardsville died Friday, May 14, 2021.

Bud was born April 26, 1952 in Buncombe County to the late Claude and Ruth Bess Dillingham; he lived all of his life in Barnardsville. Bud was famous for his phone ministry, calling over 400 people each week, reaching many at difficult times and in good times. He was the WLOS Person of the Year in 2017.

Surviving are his sisters, Kay Tweed and husband Gary of Weaverville and Becky Banks and husband Curtis of Barnardsville; niece, Kristen Carithers and husband Will; nephew, Adam Banks and wife Samantha and three great nephews, Liam and Noah Banks and William Cash Carithers.

His funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 19, 2021 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Rhinehart will officiate. Burial will follow in Thomas F. Dillingham Cemetery, Barnardsville.

The family will greet friends 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday prior to the funeral.

You may pay your respects to Bud on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The family will not be present.
