Bobby D. Boone

WEAVERVILLE – Bobby D. Boone, age 96, of Weaverville, died Wednesday, April 19, 2023. 

Mr. Boone was born January 2, 1927, in Buncombe where he lived all of his life. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, serving in the United States Navy, Coast Guard, and the Air Force. After the military, he became a self-employed contractor and worked until he was 88.  Bob loved music.  He played several instruments and formed a group called Faith, Hope and Charity. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vestal and Texie Marie Carson Boone; brothers, Bernard, Charles “Johnny” and Arden Boone; and god-son, R. Allan Ingle. 

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eloise Gillis Boone; daughter, Rhonda Carpenzano and husband, Todd; son, L. Russell Burleson, Jr.; grandchildren, Russell E. Burleson, Tiffany Vann and husband, Gage, and great-grandchild, Micah Vann.

A private family burial was held at West Memorial Park in Weaverville.
