BILLY GENE CAGLE WEAVERVILLE – Billy Gene Cagle, age 67, left this world Friday, February 17, 2017 at CarePartners Hospice around 6:00 p.m. Billy was born June 22, 1949 in Virginia. He entered the Army September 9, 1968 and was honorably discharged September 18, 1974. Billy served in Vietnam from 1969 to October 1970 and also completed a tour of duty in Germany with the 3rd Armored Division. He had made his home with Barbara and Danny English of Weaverville for the past 18 years. He was formerly married to Wilma Cagle of Leicester and was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Cagle Ball; and stepfather, Calloway Ball. Surviving are his stepdaughters, Tonya Teague, and Tera Teague and husband Keith, all of Leicester; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2017, in Riverside Baptist Church, 871 Riverside Drive, Asheville with the Reverend John Honeycutt officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to his service at the church. Flowers are welcome.
