Betty Louise McCall West

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLORIDA – Betty Louise McCall West, age 89, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025.

Betty was born in Mills River, North Carolina, on June 15, 1936. She was the third child of four born to Robert Harding McCall and Leah Allison McCall. Betty was raised in Etowah, North Carolina. She graduated from Etowah High School. After graduation, she moved to Asheville, North Carolina to be trained as an X-ray technician. She later worked at Pratt & Whitney as a proofreader and data specialist. When Betty moved to Asheville, she met her future husband whom she married on June 2, 1958. Right after the wedding they moved to West Pam Beach, Florida, where they resided for the rest of their lives. Betty’s career included working in several doctor’s offices as a secretary and X-ray technician.

Surviving are her children, Cathy and Ken (Debra) West; brother, Jim (Julie) McCall; cousins, Janice Paxton, and Joyce Van Dyk; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 24, 2025, at West Memorial Park, 40 Roberts Street, Weaverville, North Carolina with Reverend Dr. Jim McCoy officiating.
