Betty Jean Sherlin Allman

WEST ASHEVILLE – Betty Jean Sherlin Allman, age 75, of West Asheville, died Thursday, December 28, 2017. Mrs. Allman was born July 18, 1942 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Nelson and Bonnie Evans Sherlin. She is also preceded in death by her husband, J.B. “Jack” Allman, who died in 2016; son, John Howard Allman; sister, Donnie Waldrop, and brothers, Nelson and Daniel Ray Sherlin. Surviving are her daughter, Rebecca Cole; son, Jack Allman, Jr. and wife Dawn; brother, William “Bill” Sherlin of Kentucky; grandchildren, Jason and wife Stephanie, Jacqueline and husband Clark, Lynn and husband Elmo, James and wife Kara, Stephen and wife Samantha; great grandchildren, Tyson, Patrick, Johanna, Jaelyn Mae, Jayden, Dakota and Taylor. Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave. Weaverville. Burial will be in West Memorial Park, Weaverville. The family will receive friends 3:00 to 5:00 pm. Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the funeral home.
