WEAVERVILLE—Ausbon Clay Hogan, age 95, of Weaverville died Wednesday, March 20, 2013.
Mr. Hogan was born March 9, 1918, in McDowell County to the late Charlie and Ora Watkins Hogan. He owned and operated Hogan's Watch Repair Shop in Asheville. Mr. Hogan attended Temple Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Mildred Geneva Robinson Hogan; daughters, Linda Hyatt and husband Richard of Leicester, Joan Brady and husband Tommy of Arden and Pamela Burnette and husband Stuart of Alexander; sisters, Mary Sue Dillard of Marion and Winnie Belle Clement of Charlotte; brothers, Grady Hogan of Union Mills and Lynn Hogan of Lincoln Park, Mich.; three grandchildren, Cynthia Frye, Trevor Burnette and Alana Burnette; two great grandchildren, Thomas Frye and Hannah Frye and one great great grandchild, Addelin Frye.
His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2013 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Bray officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Enka.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:30 on Monday prior to the funeral service.
