Annie Mae Stamey

Swannanoa - Annie Fowler Stamey, age 98, of Swannanoa, died Tuesday, December 12, 2023.

Mrs. Stamey was born August 25, 1925, in Madison County to the late Otis and Mildred Riddle Fowler. She was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. She was a homemaker and retired from Charles D. Owen Company after 10 plus years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Stamey.

Surviving are her son, Charles Stamey and wife Linda of Swannanoa; sister, Winnie Caldwell of Leicester; grandchildren, Dewain Stamey and Wesley Stamey; great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Kallie, Whitney, Jackson, Addison, and Conner Stamey; great great grandchildren, Charlie, Liylah, and Stone.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 15, 2023, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home. Reverend Leonard Cole will officiate. Burial will follow in Sky View Memorial Park, Asheville.

The family will greet friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday prior to the funeral.
