Alva Lunsford

ALEXANDER – Alva Lunsford, age 93, of Alexander died Friday, February 23, 2024.

Mr. Lunsford was born December 30, 1930, in Madison County to the late Bass & Kitty Payne Lunsford. He enjoyed gardening and working on anything mechanical. Alva was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Shelton Lunsford; great granddaughter, Hatti; sisters, Joy Davis, and Imogene Sharpe; brothers, Hugh, Rex, and Jerry Lunsford

Surviving are his daughter, Linda Merrill and husband Ray; son, James Lunsford and wife Debi; sister, Alma Buckner; brother, Dedrick Lunsford and wife Peggy; grandchildren, Jason Merrill and wife Sarah, Jared Merrill and wife Jill, James Lunsford and wife Marissa and Alicia Greenwood and husband Jared; great grandchildren, Landon, Ian, Lucy, Ava, Wilder and Brees.

His funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM Monday, February 26, 2023, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Caldwell will officiate. Burial will follow in Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:15 to 2:15 PM, Monday, prior to the funeral.
